  1. The Dreaded Silence of the Night

  3.  
  4. The silence of the night
  5. Magnifies the constant  ringing--
  6. The ringing in my ears.
  7. Sleep spurns me.
  8. Wakefulness reigns.
  9. Disturbing flashbacks stalk my mind--
  10. Rebounding to anxieties of the future.
  11. I wait for sleep to no avail--
  12. The ringing in my ears never cease.
  13. I pray to God for mercy--
  14. And thank and praise Him for His attributes.
  15. I thank Him for the gift of eternal life
  16. And pray for those who are in need.
  17. I tell Him what a great 
  18. And compassionate God He is.
  19. Slowly I feel calmer--
  20. Inner peace flows through my body.
  21. The ringing in my ears is softer.
  22. I feel the sensation of drowsiness.
  23. Sleep finally comes.
  24. I awake to bright rays of sunshine
  25. Shining through my window.
  26. I feel exhilarated and ready
  27. For the challenges of a new day,
  28. And opportunities to serve and glorify God.
  29. I imagine that God is smiling at me,
  30. And I thank Him for His love and mercy.
